An easy recipe hack to make Wolfgang Puck’s signature Smoked Salmon Pizza from Spago in Beverly Hills is one thing. But being able to cook this restaurant dish at home using only ingredients from Trader Joe’s? Yes please!
Spago’s Smoked Salmon Pizza was made famous in the 80s, has been a staple at The Oscars party at The Governers Ball, enjoyed by many celebrities, and now can be made in your own home kitchen.
Salmon roe aside (yes I couldn’t help but garnish with this,) this copycat recipe is easy to shop for ingredients, making a fun Trader Joe’s shopping haul.
Your Trader Joe’s Shopping List Should Include:
-`1 Pizza Dough
-6 oz Smoked Salmon
-7.5 oz Crème Fraîche
-Dill
-Chives
-Lemon
-Shallot
-Garlic
-Olive Oil
-Salt & Pepper for taste
**** Salmon Roe (Not found at Trader Joe’s)

Directions:
Remove pizza dough from plastic wrap and set aside for 30 minutes.
Begin prepping your Dill Crème Fraîche Combine 7.5 oz Crème Fraîche (full tub), 2 tbsp minced dill, 1 tbsp minced shallot, juice from 1/2 of a lemon, and salt & pepper to taste. Stir together and chill until use.
Preheat oven to 475.
On a lightly floured surface , stretch or roll out the dough into an 8-inch circle.
Brush the center with olive oil (or garlic oil.)
***Wolfgang puck likes to layer thin chopped onions on the dough, but i’m not into that so I left it off this recipe.
Slide your dough onto hot pizza stone and bake for 8 to 10 minutes. You want edges golden brown.
While pizza is cooking, prep your chives (slice thin for a garnish.)
Remove pizza from oven and get ready to add all of the goodies! Spread Dill Crème Fraîche, place salmon evenly, sprinkle chopped chives, and if you have it place your salmon roe (caviar if you are fancy) on top.
Cut, enjoy, pretend you are an Oscar winner!
